The truth is closer than we think, that premise has been proven right with the announcement that the worldwide TV phenomenon The X-Files eleventh season will return exclusively to Foxtel’s showcase channel Thursdays from January 4th EXPRESS from the US.

Following what can only be described as a mind blowing season finale during Season 10 fans of the hit franchise have been waiting eagerly for news for the eleventh season which once again stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in their iconic roles as Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Season Eleven will see the two agents search for their long lost son William.

The series will premier on January 4th at 8:30pm

The all-new episodes will also feature guest-star appearances by Haley Joel Osment, Barbara Hershey, Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.”

“The Truth” is still out there and the highly anticipated Season 11 kicks off in explosive form with Mulder and Scully searching for their long-lost son William.

The latest instalment will move on from the 14-year hiatus of the series delivering the twisted and supernatural episodic stories The X-Files is known for.

Originally premiering in 1993, over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favourite to become one of the most successful television dramas of all time.

In 2016, the The X-Files Season 10 revival was a ratings success and the most talked about event series on Twitter generating a significant amount of social media coverage. The series continues to have a massive pop culture influence with a dedicated and passionate fan base.

The X-Files, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, is created and executive-produced by Chris Carter and produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions.

Following its broadcast on Foxtel’s showcase channel Thursdays from January 4 at 8.30pm Express from the US, The X-Files will be available to watch from Foxtel On Demand, or streamed on Foxtel Now.
